The hotel had a great location, within walking distance to everything I needed. The front desk staff, especially the overnight gentleman, were very helpful and spoke English. There were plenty of places to eat around the hotel and tourist information was easily accessible.
Felt really comfortable, nothing was too much trouble.

Wow, our room at Hotel Moderne was awesome! It had a big TV with lots of channels so we could watch our favorite shows. The lift made it super easy to get to our room with all our stuff. The free WiFi was a lifesaver for our tech-savvy family. Plus, the bathroom was clean and had a hairdryer for quick styling. we loved it!
I was not a big fan of the toiletries provided in the bathroom. But hey, that's just my personal taste.

I stayed at this hotel in Lyon for 4 days while my daughter attended a conference. The location was perfect, with everything within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially the overnight front desk attendant who spoke English. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the stand-alone fan and bathroom heater. The hotel had a charming old staircase and felt like a Parisian hotel. The check-in process was quick and hassle-free. a great stay with a great price.
Can recommend this hotel.

The location is just perfect, everything is within walking distance from the hotel. Also bus stops and the metro station are just 2mins walk. Huge number of shops and restaurants in the neighbouring area. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. Great value for the money paid. Definitely recommend to everyone.

The hotel was handy to metro stations; close to food shops, stores & cafes, and is in the middle of the historic area. It's an older hotel in the old sector so fitted in. Breakfast was worth the 8.50euro per person and the French breads lovely to eat. We were impressed with the winding staircase and used it instead of the lift - even after a busy day out.
Being from New Zealand we are used to tissues and hot drink facilities in our hotel/motel rooms. These were not in our rooms and it would be helpful to have more concise details about the thins that are available in the room, just so there are no surprises. We will forewarn our friends.

A flat-screen TV with satellite channels: I felt like a movie star in my own room, lounging on the cozy bed, flipping through channels like a boss.
Lack of parking facilities.

We had a fantastic romantic escape in Lyon. The hotel's location was perfect for us, with easy access to both the shopping center and the charming Old Town with its countless restaurants. It was great to have all these options within walking distance. The cleanliness of the room and ensuite was impeccable, with fresh towels and toiletries provided daily. We also appreciated the free WiFi, which worked seamlessly during our stay. One more advantage was the affordable price, making our romantic getaway even more enjoyable.
The front desk staff upon arrival seemed a bit indifferent and had limited English skills, which made communication a bit challenging. We also had a street-facing room, which unfortunately led to some noise early in the morning.

Clean, friendly, and well-located hotel. Our room had a stand-alone fan which was a lifesaver in the heat. The staff provided complementary wash kits and towels. I recommend this hotel for a short stay in a great location.

The hotel's location was perfect, with easy access to the major squares, Vieux Lyon, and the bustling Rue de la Republique. Our room was surprisingly spacious, even for our large family, and provided plenty of comfortable space for everyone to relax. The kids especially loved the fun digital entertainment options available, which kept them entertained during our downtime at the hotel.
My children wanted a designated play area for kids within the hotel.

The location of the hotel was excellent, with easy access to both a shopping center and the Old Town. It was great to have so many restaurants and shops nearby. the staff in the evening were very cheerful and helpful, making our stay more enjoyable.
The hotel itself was quite old and in need of some maintenance. The room we stayed in was noisy, especially in the early morning, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
Tourists from New Zealand often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
